Research Assistantships and Post-docs
A postdoctoral fellow position (or visiting scientist, or research associate) and a Ph.D research assistant position are open in the areas of semiconductor lasers, photonics, and solid-state physics. Candidates with strong academic record in these areas and related experimental experiences are encouraged to contact and visit our lab. A tradition of the lab is for the lab members to have a chance to meet with and hear a presentation by the most promising candidates before making any decision.
We consider for Graduate Research Assistantships only the top candidates among graduate students at Brown (i.e. currently enrolled in, or have been (or will be) accepted into a graduate program). We value candidates who:
- are self-motivated and have the drive
- are creative and original
- have a strong academic background
- have a strong work ethic
- are persistent and determined
- communicate well
- are good people
We seek students with a record of excellence and academic achievement in one or more of the following fields: Physics, Semiconductor Electronics, Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Materials Science; and a strong interest in one of our main research areas described in the research portion of the website.
