Research Assistantships and Post-docs
The Laboratory for Emerging Technologies is looking for one or two new graduate students to begin research in the lab. A tradition of the lab is for the lab members to have a chance to meet with and hear a presentation by the most promising candidates before making any decision.
We consider for graduate research assistantships only the top candidates among graduate students at Brown (i.e. currently enrolled in, or have been (or will be) accepted into a graduate program). We value candidates who:
- are self-motivated and have the drive
- are creative and original
- have a strong academic background
- have a strong work ethic
- are persistent and determined
- communicate well
- are good people
Currently Open Positions
Two research positions for graduate students are currently availaible. We have now filled all open postdoc positions. However, it may be possible to accomodate one more extremely talented researcher with experience in one or more of the following areas.
- Micro- and nano-photonics
- Infrared opto-electronics and infrafed detectors and sources
- Carbon nanotube / graphene-related science and technology
- Ultrahigh speed nanowire transistors
